The BIG "M" Mopar entry of Billy Ray Varner III from Stanley, NC picked up Memorial Day Monday's $3,000.00 TOP Eliminator win. Varner, driving Grandpa "Big Bill's" Gibbsons built Dragster defeated a red-hot Danny Ray McManus of Pageland, SC for his first "Dirty MO" win of the year. "Bubba" ran a 4.95 ET at 139 MPH to hold off a too quick McManus in his Ford Mustang. Danny Ray won Saturday's TOP "High Roller" Race and was a semi-finalist also. Frank McNutt of Canton, OH in a Dragster and Robert England of Waco, NC in his Plymouth Duster were TOP semi-finalist.
The some time unstoppable Chris Plott showed why he's leading the TOP Eliminator points at Mooresville, as he scored his fourth win of the year Monday. Plott picked up the Foot Brake win using a .006 RT at the start and putting the Mercury Cougar dead on the dial-in. CP defeated Saturday night's Foot Brake runner-up Kurt Huntington of Cleveland, NC in his small Chevy powered Pontiac. Former MD champion Jeff Flood of Mocksville, NC placed a strong semi-final finish in his Chevy Vega.
Fesperman Family Finals in Junior Dragster! Justin Flood Gets First Dirty MO Real Street Win Defeating Scotty Keller
It was an all FESPERMAN Family finals as Heather and Ricky squared off in the Junior Dragster finals Monday at Mooresville. It would be Heather taking the win as Ricky broke out, running a 7.88 ET of a 7.90 dial-in. Heather scored her first MD win running a 9.19 ET at 70 MPH. Brittany Sprinkles of China Grove, NC and Anthony McManus of Pageland, SC were both semi-finalist.
Second and third generation drag racers Justin Flood of Mocksville, NC and Scotty Keller from Mooresville, NC squared off in the Real Street finals. Both drivers were even at the start, and it would be Keller running too quick in his street legal '68 Camaro giving Flood his first "Dirty MO" victory. Brett Campbell of Winston-Salem, NC was the lone semi-finalist.

Steve Furr, Monty Joe Bogan, Jr., John Furr, Jerry Tomlinson and Tyler Mosley Take "Dirty MO" IHRA Ironman Classic Wins !
The Furr Brothers captured "Dirty MO" IHRA Ironman wins Saturday night at Mooresville Dragway. It look like a Furr Family Reunion in the Mooresville winner's circle with Steve and John Furr. Steve of Harrisburg, NC drove his Dragster to the TOP Dragster/TOP Sportsman win over Chad Tilley from Lexington, NC in Russ Whitlock's Dragster. WSC Racing Engines man Dan Whisnant of Casar, NC was the lone semi-finalist. Then brother John, from Oakboro, NC took home the IHRA Ironman in Hot Rod defeating former Mooresville champion Jerry Cline of MD. Hot Rod Doug Ramsey of Mt. Airy, NC kept the "Belt" with his semi-final finish and recent Piedmont winner Clark Holcomb of Troutman, NC was a semi-finalist. Former IHRA World Champion Monty Joe Bogan of Jonesville, SC took home the iron in the Stock/Super Stock Combo. Bogan in his '67 Camaro defeated a red hot Scott Macy from Randleman, NC in Ernie Humes '78 Plymouth for the IHRA trophy. Veteran Chuck Gallagher was the lone semi-finalist. TOP Eliminator's Jerry Tomlinson of Connelly Springs, NC picked up the big IHRA Ironman defeating Foot Braker Brian Holbrook from Lexington, NC. Both drivers clicked of .013 reaction times, but it was Tomlinson in his Dragster that broke it out the least in the special Ironman runoff. Tomlinson defeated Ronnie Freeman of Shelby, NC for the PBM/Erson series TOP Eliminator win. Danny McManus of Pageland, SC and Preston Weathers of Saluda, SC were TOP semi-finalist. Young gun Brian Holbrook took his '73 Camaro to his first ever Mooresville Foot Brake win defeating Kurt Huntington of Cleveland, NC for the win. Scott Macy doing double duty was the lone semi-finalist. Third generation racer Tyler Mosley of Inman, SC took home the IHRA Ironman in the Drake Coatings Junior Dragster division. Mosley had to stop a red hot Jesse Warren of Concord, NC for the IHRA Ironman win. Corey Leazer and Samatha Sweet both of Mooresville, NC scored semi-final finishes.
In the special "HIGH ROLLERS" Gamblers races, Danny Ray McManus drove his Ford Mustang to the TOP Eliminator win over Statesville, NC's Dap Morrison in his Chevy Wagon. Veteran James Lockhart of Charlotte, NC drove his 442 Olds to the High Roller Foot Brake win over Tim Byrd.
Bill Crane of Morganton, NC picked up his second Real Street win of the year defeating Missy Reid of Mooresville, NC.

Sunday's racing action was just as hot
and tough at the Dirty MO Classic weekend action. Tim West of
Asheville, NC and Megan Lister of Trinity, NC made their first
visit to the TOP Eliminator finals at Mooresville. Both drivers
were coming off first time wins at Piedmont Dragway. West in his
Chevy Monte Carlo had won TOP Sportsman and Lister picked up her
first TOP win just a few weeks ago in her Race Tech Dragster.
The West & Sons Chevy would get the nod over "Nitro Chick"
Lister for the $3,000.00 win. Jimmy Freeman and Joey Randall
both of Shelby, NC were semi-finalist.
David Stebner from Statesville, NC did two things in Foot Brake Sunday at the Dirty MO. Stebner with his Plymouth Duster made it to his first finals and second he won. Not bad for the Mopar racer, as he had to stop veteran Mike Hager of Concord, NC in his Chevy Nova. A red hot James Lockhart was the lone semi.
Tyler Mosley of Inman, SC pulled of the hat trick taking his second straight Drake Coatings Junior Dragster win. The Paul's Transmission backed entry knocked of the Race Tech race cars sponsored entry of Grayson Lister. Brystal Mosley and Ashley Strickland placed semi-final finishes. Birthday boy Travis Varner of Stanley, NC defeated Missy Reid in her four door Buick for the Real Street win.
