Season Opening quick 8 outlaw Mad Dawg action at the “dawg house”

“the Yank” Chris Rini’s Takes Another Dawg race win this time over Carolina’s Todd Howard

He did at Piedmont and now he’s done it again! Chris the “unstoppable” Rini from Carmel, NY drove his ATI Performance Products Dodge Stratus to his first career Mad Dawg win over the Jerry Williams Motorsports Ford Probe and hired gun Todd Howard of Mocksville, NC. Just doin it Dirty MO style! Of course, Rini marched to the finals by defeating engine builder Andy Beal of Thomasville, NC in round one in the Dogeli/Beal Camaro. Rini’s 4.23 ET in the semi’s stopped the Scott Duggins owned Par Racing Engines owned Pontiac GXP in a slip sliding away round two match up.

Former Quick 8 Racers Assoc. and Volkswagen series champion Howard defeated number four qualifier “Happy” Gilmer Hinshaw of Burlington, NC in his Senorial Construction Chevy Colbalt. A low ET from round one of a  4.21 by Howard in the Williams Family Ford lead him lead into good side by match up of “Bounty” award winner Douglas. “Big T” lead from the start going another 4.20 ET to stop the 4.25 ET of the “wheeler dealer” Douglas in his ASM Chevy. The two most conservative teams made it down the track and their first ever Mad Dawg finals; ATI/Rini and Williams/Howard. It was Buck power VS. Fulton power, Scott Cozzali VS. Bryan & Jonathan Williams and finally its was a Dodge VS. Ford Dirty Mo finals. Howard got the jump off the start but the Probe got moving left and TH had to back pedal to a 4.57 ET at 144 MPH runner-up finish.  Chris Rini’s 4.32 ET at 148 MPH was no better, but he was bale to drive his way to the stripe and a first ever Carolina’s Mad Dawg win for the guys.

A big Thanks to all the fans, crews and racers that came out to the Dirty Mo for the first of four quick 8 outlaw Mad Dawg races this year. Next quick outlaw Mad Dawg event is scheduled for Memorial Day weekend MAY 22nd and 23rd. Hope to see you back at the “dawg house” Mooresville Dragway.
