Chris Warren Becomes First Door Car to Win the 4-5 second Shootout

Chris Warren drove his Pitts Repair Service Dodge Daytona to the 4&5 second win over Tony Wilson's small block powered Dragster. The former dirty Mo track champion used a better reaction time to become the first Door Car to win the Mooresville event.

Wilson in his MBE powered Chevy Dragster defeated Canton, NC's Josh James for the "open bodied" Championship in the 4&5 second shootout. Dan Malloy of Mooresville, NC and Stuart Smith of Lenior, NC was the "open bodied" semi-finalist. Defending  champion Chuck Martin was the #1 Dash for Cash qualifier with a dead on zero run.

Warren had to defeat the Chevrolet Berratta of Randy James from Canton, NC for the "Door Car" 4&5 second braggin rights. The father and son James team came within thousandths of going to the dirty Mo 4&5 second finals. Josh on the "open bodied" side and Randy in the "doors". Lonnie Plyer of Statesville, NC in his Camaro was the door semi-finalist. Matt Robinson drove his dad's Camaro to the #1 Dash for Cash win.

 

 

Maria Kay Bowie took home over $400.00 in cash for winning the regular dirty mo Junior Dragster race and special heads-up 7.90 index class. Bowie with her East Coast Performance Dragster defeated Morgan Tedder for the "big event" Junior win and stopped Charlotte, NC's Landon Russell for the 7.90 heads-up class win.  Jessie Warren was the "big event" semi-finalist in his Pitts Repair Service Dragster. Maria also won the special "Dash for Cash" qualifying. Three time Allied Bearing dirty mo Junior Dragster champion Mitchell Harkey won the special "Second Chance" race defeating 2009 Piedmont Dragway champion Chris "hot rod" Gibson.

Marston, NC Morgan "what ever" Tedder was the "big race" runner-up.

 

It's was NOVA Saturday @ the dirty Mo in TOP Eliminator, as Lil Gibbs, Jonathan drove his Gibbs Race Cars 1970 Nova to the win over "lil" Ricky Caldwell in his '70 Nova. Gibbs cut a .011 RT to Caldwell's .010 R/T, with Gibbs taking the double breakout win over Caldwell.

Gibbs 6.34 ET off 6.36 dn. to Caldwell's 5.92 ET off a 5.97 dn.

Roger Plyer of Statesville, NC and Billy Harwell of Connelly Springs, NC was the other Nova in the semi-finalist.
