Timmy Alexander Posts First Foot Brake Win In Leading Team World to Victory! Mike Hager Runner-Up for Team World

Never, Never, Never Give up! And it all finally paid off for young gun Timmy Alexander from Mocksville, NC as he scored his first ever career Foot Brake win at Mooresville Dragway this past Saturday night. Alexander, a former rookie of the year drove his Chevrolet Malibu to the special Foot Brake race “Mopar’s VS the World” win over veteran Mike Hager of Concord, NC. Timmy’s dad K Ray Alexander had won this event three years ago, and it was a sweet first time victory for the younger Alexander. Timmy ran a 7.12 ET on a 7.12 dial at 93 MPH to hold off Hager’s quicker 6.59 ET off a 6.58 dial at 103 MPH in his Chevrolet Nova.  Last weeks Foot Brake Quick 8 winner Jeff Flood of Mocksville, NC in his Chevrolet Vega and former two time Dirty Mo champion Tim Byrd of Mocksville, NC in his Chevrolet Monza was semi-finalist. Junior Bryant of Stanley, NC lead “Team Mopar” qualifying and former Dirty Mo champion Paul Shell, Jr. of Lexington, NC was the number one man for “Team World” in his Chevrolet Nova.

 

Chuck Martin, James Lockhart, Mitchell Flynt, Larry Smith and Jeff Heintz Post Gaston Used Auto Parts/Allied Bearing/Salisbury Cycle Center Wins

 In regular Gaston Used Auto Parts/ Dirty Mo race series action Chuck Martin of Connelly Springs, NC defeated Rick Whaley of Reidsville, NC for the his first TOP Eliminator win of the season at Mooresville. Martin, in his WSC Racing Engines powered Race Tech Dragster, used a better reaction of the start to hold off the Whaley Family Chevrolet Camaro. Chuckie ran a 4.95 ET off a 4.94 dial at 132 MPH to beat out Rick’s 5.28 ET off a 5.26 dial at 130 MPH door car charge. Durant Cottingham placed a strong semi-final finish in his Chevrolet powered Dragster.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Reigning Gaston Used Auto Parts Foot Brake champion James Lockhart of Charlotte, NC picked up his first Dirty Mo Foot Brake win of the year defeating Ricky Greer of Winston-Salem, NC. The five time Foot Brake champion Lockhart in his familiar 442 Oldsmobile held off the “Fat Boy” Greer in his Beal Racing Engines Chevrolet Luv Truck for a big first points win. Mitchell Flynt of Pinnacle, NC won his first ever Junior Dragster race of his young career Saturday night at Mooresville Dragway. Flynt used a better reaction of the start to run a winning 8.89 ET off an 8.85 dial at 71 Mph to defeat Hannah “Bubble Gum” Blevins of Jefferson, NC in her wrblevinsplumbing.com Dragster. Third generation racer Jesse Warren of Concord, NC in his Pitts Repair Service Dragster was the lone semi-finalist.

 

Larry Smith ( not to be confused with South) of Sophia, NC scored his second straight Dirty Mo Ace High Performance Real Street win defeating Tim Finney of Landis, NC. Smith in his Mopar Performance Dodge Truck ran a 13.53 ET at 48 MPH to hold off reigning Real Street champion Finney’s 10.37 ET at 65 Mph charge in his four door Chevrolet Nova. Kerri Sprinkles Henry of China Grove, NC placed a strong semi-final finish in her Chevrolet Nova.

 

 Picking up the very first Dirty Mo Salisbury Cycle Center Motorcycle division win was Jeff Heintz of Kannapolis, NC on his Suzuki GSXR. Heintz collected the very first Motorcycle race win off the start as Chris Myers of Winston-Salem, NC red-lighted on his Suzuki Hayabusia.
