DRAGWAY – 2007 RULES FOR POINTS RACES
Not like some tracks, you automatically in
the 2007 MooresvilleDragway.com Race Series any time you
enter a points race
There will be 16 possible
points races (listed below) and you can drop 4 of your
worst races. It will still be up to you and your crew to
help keep up with your points.
Team Mooresville Dragway
will take a 48 member team to Rockingham, NC for the
IHRA Bracket Finals October 25-28. The “TOP 20” in Top
Eliminator, “TOP 20” in Foot Brake, “TOP 8” in Junior
Dragsters will all qualify for the team. Track will pay
for the race entry to the Bracket Finals. Remember
monies rasied through ˝ and ˝ Sales will help pay for
Food, Shirts and extra goodies for the team members.
POINTS Distribution and
Rules:
1)- There is NO Charge to
join the points. You Race, Your In !
2)- Points go to the
Driver, not the car.
You can earn points in TWO Different cars
in the same class. No swapping of numbers once the event
starts, if you break your second entry.
You can also earn points in TOP and Foot
Brake with the same car. You must follow the particular
rules for that class.
3)- NO SWITCHING of
drivers and substitute driver allowed in car.
4)- If a car breaks, the
driver may substitute another car to earn points before
eliminations begin. The substituted car maybe entered by
another driver in that class. You must put your number
on the car.
5)- CAR AND DRIVER MUST BE
PRESENT AT THE TRACK TO EARN ENTRY POINTS. No send the
entry money with a friend deal !
6)-If a race is rained
out, the following rules will apply.
- If the race
is rained out during practice, no points will
be awarded.
- If the race
is rained out after practice has been completed (all
classes), but elimination’s
have not been started, each driver will be awarded
1 points for that race.
- If the race
is
rained out during elimination’s, points will be
awarded through the last round
completed in each class.
7)- Buy Backs drivers will
receive full points.
8)- A current points list
of the “TOP 50” will be available in the tower of each
class. The “TOP 20” will posted on the website and in
the weekly Newsletter.
9)- The driver and /or
team is responsible for keeping an accurate account of
the points won at each and every race. If you have a
discrepancy in your points, let Elaine or Mark know.
10)- Points will awarded
as follows:
- 3 points for each race entered.
- 1 point for each round won.
- The points from FOUR RACES will be dropped at the end
of the season.
11)- TIE BREAKERS (for
final bracket, final position ONLY)
- Total number of points races entered.
- Most races won
- Most races runner-up
- Run Off
CHAMPIONSHIP WILL BE DETERMINED BY A “ONE-RUN” RUNOFF
ALL RULES ARE SUBJECT TO
INTERPRETATION BY TRACK OWNERS/OFFICIALS
